Escape

I booked a holiday today.  Perhaps the term 'holiday' is a bit of an exaggeration, it's an overnight hotel stay.  It's our first 'holiday' for four years.

I'm very excited.

It was a Groupon offer that I deliberated over and wished upon for several days before we pressed the 'buy' button.  Expensive for just one night, but so much cheaper than a week or a fortnight away.  I chose quality over quantity, and the fact that my sister is just down the road so we can get together.

It's Scotland.  I'd love it if it was sunny.  I don't mind if it rains a bit.  But please, please don't let it be misty.

  3. I want to say that island is Ailsa Craig? I'm not quite sure. We drove that way in May on our way back from England. We did a detour into Dumfries and Galloway and loved it - driving up the coast past Ailsa Craig towards Prestwick before turning right and on into Glasgow. It was a lovely few days. I often think the most memorable holidays are not necessarily the longest. Have a great time.

  5. Oooh lovely. I just adore Scotland. Very envious.
But after all the hard work you deserve a holiday, and even a short break away will be such a treat.

  8. Hello Dan :-) :-) I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be able to visit again!! I have tried many times over the last few months only to get a message saying your blog was 'now open to invited readers only'....I was so disappointed! I thought about emailing you but was worried that would look like I was demanding to be invited ;-) Anyway I'm so pleased all is well.

Scotland! How wonderful, I'm sure you will have a lovely time. I seem to remember you telling us you were brought up there, of course I may have that all wrong. We haven't had a holiday for some years, mainly due to having an elderly and frail dog. For the same reason we can't go out for a whole day either, just a few hours at a time, any longer is unfair to leave him.

I have just enjoyed your last post with all the lovely photos. I would be in my element there :-)
